What is “Maiden’s Blush”?

Two different symbols, each ancient as the air and achingly beautiful in their own right, combined to bring forth the title of this little book blog.

“Maiden’s Blush” is both a variety of old-world rose (pale pink and winter hardy) as well as a small, winged creature: an oak-woodland species of moth. These two elements (the rose and the moth) have been entwined for ages in music, art, mythology, folklore, and literature.

Feminine, dainty, and delicate- yet…persisting, throughout each generation which passes, on soft wings through the moonlit sky and thorns tucked between emerald petals.
